For A level and GCSE students, Easter revision is one of the most important dates in the calendar.

We’ve been running Easter Revision courses for more than 25 years. Over 1,500 students now attend MPW Easter Revision courses each year.

Easter Revision courses are a great way of getting the bulk of your revision done early but expect to be worked hard. The revision is structured for you with the emphasis in the right places and lots of practice on past papers.

Full specification A level revision courses (reformed specifications) involve studying one subject solidly for a week.

By contrast, up to two GCSE revision courses, two AS revision courses (legacy specifications), two A2 revision courses (legacy specifications) or two end-of-Year 12 revision courses (reformed specifications) may be studied each week.

At MPW, A level Easter Revision courses are for a particular board and specification, so you’re in groups where everyone is studying exactly the same specification. That might influence the Easter Revision courses that you choose to take with us.

Subject lists

Dates 2019

  • Week 1: Monday 1 April – Friday 5 April
  • Week 2: Monday 8 April – Friday 12 April
  • Week 3: Monday 15 April – Friday 19 April

Why do A level Revision Courses?

Summer examinations are of pivotal importance for lower-sixth as well as upper-sixth students. For Year 12 students, regardless of whether the examinations are internal or external, their results will have considerable influence on their UCAS references, predicted grades and even sometimes the subjects that they are permitted to pursue into Year 13. For Year 13 students themselves, under the reformed specifications university and career prospects hinge on the results obtained in a single sitting at the end of a linear course.

Why do GCSE Easter Revision Courses?

GCSE results have always been an important milestone but their significance today is greater than ever. Government led reforms mean that the examinations are now more challenging. Schools and colleges are also raising their requirements for sixth-form entry. Furthermore, with A levels now linear, university tutors are paying much closer attention to applicants’ GCSE grades. Not surprisingly, students are keen to ensure that their exam preparations are as comprehensive and streamlined as possible during the final few weeks before their examinations begin.

Samaritans talks to young people #Talks #Schools #Education.

Many Samaritans branches across the UK and Republic of Ireland have trained teams of volunteers, who can visit a school, college or youth group to give a talk to young people. Our talks can be about emotional health, the value of listening, coping strategies (including self-harm) or about Samaritans and the importance of accessing support and where it can be found.
